About Dr. Milana Sapozhnikov
Dr. Sapozhnikov was born in Brooklyn and has lived in Brooklyn her entire life. She completed her medical and surgical training in Ophthalmology in New York City. Her ability to speak English, Russian, and Spanish has allowed her to better take care of her patients and properly address their questions and needs. Dr. Sapozhnikov specializes in cataract surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, vision correction procedures, laser procedures, and cosmetic treatments. Dr. Sapozhnikov has extensive experience in management of various eye diseases such as dry eye disease, chalazion, hordeolum, cataracts, glaucoma, myopia, hyperopia, diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration. She is excited to continue working in her home community and improve eye health for her patients. In her free time, Dr. Sapozhnikov enjoys spending time with her family, traveling the world, and exploring new places in New York City.

Education
Dr. Sapozhnikov has excelled throughout her educational career. She was top of her class in every school she attended. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.00 GPA from Macaulay Honors College at Brooklyn College, a premier honors program, with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology and Chemistry. Dr. Sapozhnikov graduated and received her Medical Doctorate (MD) degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center. During medical school, Dr. Sapozhnikov was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society which is the highest honor society in the field of medicine.
Dr. Sapozhnikov completed her Ophthalmology residency program at SUNY Downstate Medical Center where she had the opportunity to work with patients in the most prestigious eye hospitals in New York City.
During her residency, she received her surgical and clinical training from prominent ophthalmologists in the fields of cornea, glaucoma, retina, oculoplastics, uveitis, and neuro-ophthalmology.
