Winter is here. The holiday spirit is in the air – as is that winter chill, and most importantly your dry eyes are acting up again. They’re itching, burning, tearing, and just overall uncomfortable.
Follow these tips to help fight that winter dry eye:
Humidify
The indoor heating during the winter months can cause severe humidity level drops that impact the lubrication of your eyes. We reccomend using a humidifier to restore the moisture in the air that your eyes require to be healthy.
Lubricate
Use lubricating eye drops 2-4 times a day if they’re feeling dry, itching, or painful. This will help to keep your eyes feeling great.
Omegas
Omega-3 fatty acids will help retain the tears that your eyes produce and increase tear production . Eat more fish rich in these nutrients or add a fish oil supplement to your diet!
Hydration
Stay hydrated at all times! Water is the key to keeping not only your eyes, but your entire body healthy. Green tea has several antioxidative properties that have been shown to help combat dry eyes.
